Rays of love

I took the image above with my phone early Tuesday morning.  "God rays", as I call them, seem to put me at ease, put a smile on my face and seem to urge me to slow down and appreciate life around me.  A lot for these little rays, huh?

I see them as a tangible hug from the Big Man.  A feeling, I hate to admit, I don't always feel or take the time to feel.

These seemed to come at an interesting time as we just visited a new church on Sunday.  I have struggled with my feelings of church and what I need or get out of a Sunday morning ritual. I came away from the service on Sunday feeling opened.  Probably a strange word to use, but I felt open to what the Pastor was saying and open to this non-traditional church that I didn't think would speak to me.  Well, it did and I am excited about going again on Sunday.

And although John might not admit it, he might be slightly looking forward to it as well.  I mean, come on, some people were in shorts and flip flops...if that isn't John, I don't know what is.

  1. Whew! This gave me goosebumps from head to tall and all the areas in between. What an awesome photo. I feel so spiritual in everyday things - moments like your "God Rays". It would be awesome to feel the same emotion and sense of community from a church. Needless to say, we're still on the hunt... Thanks for sharing this! xoxo.
